Fans can be even more nostalgic now.

Activision and Toys for Bob announced a new in-game feature for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy that lets players switch between the original and remastered game soundtracks while playing through the levels.

The announcement came at the Spyro: Reigniting a Legend Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, along with news that acclaimed musician, film score writer, and composer, Stewart Copeland, the series’ original composer, has returned to the Spyro franchise to create soundtracks for the new trilogy.

Copeland played a clip of the new soundtrack’s main theme at the panel, known as Tiger Train which has recognizable orchestra-rock sounds from the first three Spyro games.

The in-game audio feature that allows players to switch between Copeland’s original and new game music works without losing your saved data. Players simply click into the options menu while they are playing, and go to the music section where they can choose the nostalgic, original version or the newly remastered sounds.

Copeland said in a statement:

“Creating new music for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been incredibly fun and nostalgic for me. Seeing how the fans loved the original series and soundtrack was a very heart-warming experience 20 years ago, and being able to revisit that fun with the new game has brought things full circle. I can’t wait for players to hear the new intro title track and enjoy the option to play the remastered game to my original music when the trilogy arrives this fall. ‘Tiger Train’ includes some of my favorite themes from the original soundtrack, which I’m sure the Spyro faithful will appreciate!”

Ted Price, Brian Hastings, and Brian Allgeier from Insomniac Games joined Toys for Bob and Copeland at the panel, along with the voice of Spyro, Tom Kenny and producer at Universal Interactive Studios on the original Spyro trilogy, Michael John.

Fans were also shown a first look at remastered gameplay footage from Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is available for pre-order and will release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One devices on Sept. 21, 2018.

When the Spyro Reignited Trilogy was announced, IGN spoke with the developers on how they are capturing what longtime fans want in the remastered trilogy, and also wrote why the purple dragon’s return is such a big deal.
